Apply for Media Access at Slideways Showdown Grassroots Drift Events

If you’re a photographer, videographer, influencer, or motorsports journalist, we’d love to have you capture the action at Slideways Showdown. Our grassroots drift events at Painesville Speedway offer unbeatable access to thrilling drift battles, talented drivers, and the vibrant Ohio drift community.

All on track media personnel must apply for media access credentials to ensure safety and proper coordination with event staff. Read the guidelines below and submit your application to request on track access.

Who Can Apply for Media Credentials?

We welcome applications from:

✅ Professional motorsport photographers
✅ Videographers & content creators
✅ Automotive influencers & vloggers
✅ Novices and hobbyists

Approved media personnel will have the opportunity to capture ON TRACK action, interview drivers, and showcase the grassroots drift scene to a wider audience.

Media Safety Rules for On Track Access

For your safety — and the safety of our drivers and staff — all on track media must follow these critical safety rules:

✅ Attend the Media Meeting

• You must attend the mandatory driver/media meeting at the start of the day.
• If you arrive late, you must speak with the head of media before entering the track area.

✅ Wear a High-Visibility Vest

• A high-visibility safety vest is required at all times when you are on track.
• If you are not wearing a vest, you will be asked to leave the track area.

✅ Never Turn Your Back to the Track

• Always face oncoming traffic.
• Accidents happen — even with experienced drivers — so never assume you are safe.
• Track awareness is essential to being a responsible media professional.

✅ Stay in Designated Media Areas

• Media may only stand in pre-designated trackside media zones.
• These areas are chosen for your safety and offer the best balance between great shots and keeping clear of danger.

General Media Access Guidelines

In addition to the safety rules above, all approved media must follow these guidelines:

• Media must wear their media vest at all times in restricted areas.
• No drones are permitted unless explicitly pre-approved by event staff.
• All published content from Slideways Showdown events must credit Slideways Showdown in captions, tags, and posts.
• All media personnel must follow all instructions from event staff at all times.
• Failure to follow safety rules or staff directions may result in immediate removal from the event and loss of credentials.

Media Credentials are required to shoot on track, no exceptions. Applicants will be approved the week of the event. Season Long applications will be approved April 1st.

• Media Approvals will be sent by email the week of the event

• I consent to the event promoters, Slideways Showdown and venues to use media captured from the event
• I understand I am responsible for myself and my gear during the event. I understand motor sports events are dangerous and will no way hold Slideways Showdown or anyone else liable for any bodily injury or harm that may happen during the event.
• I agree to never turn my back to the track. Having good track awareness is part of being a responsible media person. Accidents happen even with the best drivers and I should not trust that they will not hit me, causing me to become deceased. When on track, I WILL stay in designated media areas. These areas are designated for my safety.
• I will follow all safety protocols and restrictions from the drivers meeting that I am aware I MUST ATTEND
